Common questions
Why are calls about 15 minutes old?
The Baltimore Police official radio is rebroadcast with a delay set by the department. Every time in the app is when the call was heard on that delayed feed, with an estimate of when it actually happened.
Which parts of the city are covered?
Live calls come from the Southeast District and Citywide channels; the other districts are coming soon and show as "Coming soon" on the map. History (Open Baltimore 911 calls and reported crime) covers every district.
Why is a call's location hidden or shown as an area?
Calls involving medical, mental-health, domestic, juvenile or sexual-offense situations never show a precise location, to protect the people involved. Some show an approximate area; the most sensitive show none.
A channel says "Paused".
The radio feed is temporarily unavailable, or transcription has reached its daily limit. It comes back on its own; calls already received stay in the app.
How do I manage or restore my subscription?
Premium, Premium+ and Remove Ads Forever are billed through the App Store or Google Play. Manage or cancel from your store account, or from Settings → Manage subscription, and use Restore purchases if a paid feature isn't unlocking.
Is this an official Baltimore Police or City service?
No. Charm City Scanner is independent and is not affiliated with the Baltimore Police Department or the City of Baltimore. It is not an official record and not an emergency service. Always call 911 in an emergency.
How do you handle my data?
There are no accounts, and your location never leaves your phone. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
